Witchy Wednesday ~ Love Spell

Welcome to my new Feature

~ Witchy Wednesdays ~

Every couple of weeks I will present a simple Spell that you can perform and I will also let you in on a few secrets along the way.  Before performing any spell or ritual, I would advise that you familiarize yourself fully with the Wiccan Rede from my earlier post, by clicking the link below:

The Wiccan Rede

Todays Spell is a Love Spell  ~ because everyone needs a bit of love in their lives. Just remember though before performing such a spell, is the object of your eye attainable?  If you are in any doubt, even the tiniest smidgen, this is not the way to go.

'Bella's Book of Shadows'

~ Bella's Love Spell ~

You will need the following

One Pink Candle
Candle Holder
White Paper
Pen ~ pink or red or both

This is performed on a Friday night.
Light your candle after cleansing it under running water (be careful not the wet the wick).
With your pen and paper, write your name and your would be lovers name and draw a circle around the names, close your eyes and meditate, focusing your intention  of what you want from this:-  happiness together, joy, kindness, imagine what you want.
Then once you are completely focused on your happy outcome, say the following three times:

Love is Light
Love is Gold
Love is Pure and a Joy to Hold
Our fate is Bound
And we are one
Now and from this time on
So Mote it Be and harm ye none

Blessed Be!

Meditate on the pink candle for at least another 10 minutes and focus on your intent again, keeping the person you want in your life in your mind at all times and imagining the wonderful life you will have together.
If you have the time, you can continue to do this until the candle has fully burnt down.
If not then fully extinguish your candle.
(DO NOT leave lit candles unattended at any time whatsoever)
You can repeat the process over the course of several nights or until the candle is finished.

Fold the piece of paper with your names on and put in a small pink bag
and hang where you will see it or keep it with you so that it reminds you daily of your intentions.

Good Luck and I hope you get everything you dreamed of.

If you would like to ask anything or need to know anything else, leave me a comment.

Week 15 ~ The Next Big Thing Blog Hop!

Welcome to
Week 15
The Next Big Thing

Today I'd like to say a BIG thanks to

Joss Landry

Who so very kindly invited me to participate in this Blog Hop.  For those of you who aren't familiar with a Blog Hop, it's sort of a virtual treasure hunt.  You start here with mine as a taster and then hop to the other blogs I've listed and find some more gems, by the time you've finished you should be pretty wealthy in the fiction department!

Gems = Discovered & Undiscovered Books

So for fiction fanatics and book lovers everywhere, you have stumbled upon an unmined gold vein sprinkled with glittering jewels for this whole Hop.

In this particular Blog Hop, I get to answer 10 questions and you will learn about my latest novel which will be available late October 2012.

Q & A

What is the working title of your book?

Scarlett Phoenix ~ Book 1 in The Seraphoenix Series

Where did the idea come from for the book?

I was daydreaming whilst working on another novel back in 2009, I had just taken a break from the computer and I was painting my garden gates at the time when this fantastic idea just floated into my mind like a white fluffy cloud with a super shiny silver lining.  I was completely blown away by the idea and quickly wrote everything down for fear of losing this little pearl in a torrent of gushing thoughts.

What genre does your book fall under?

Young Adult Paranormal Romance or YA PNR ~ However if you love angels, a splash of romance with a dash of history, and a constant sprinkling of a rollercoaster plot then this would appeal to all ages.  But if I do have to pin it down to one genre then it’s definitely YA PNR.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

OMG! You are asking the impossible!

Wow, firstly Scarlett would have to be cast; she’s a tall willowy blond.

Leo ~ oh Leo, he’s just breath-taking.

The rest of the cast are all heavenly in their own right, this makes it all the more ‘Mission Impossible’ so I think the best thing is, that you peeps read the book and we’ll have a poll running on my blog for who the readers would like to be cast.  As there are so many truly wonderful actors and actresses in the world I could hardly choose from all that talent on my own.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

‘She is the only one of her kind, he is her last hope.’

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

Being published main stream before, this time I’m opting for being master of my own destiny and sailing that ship wherever it wants to go.  In other words I’m being totally indie!

Also, I get to decide all the key factors, such as when it’s published, what format it’s published in, the cover design and everything else.  It’s really quite exciting!

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

6 months and then I’ve been editing for a while.  The first draft is always the easy part, it’s when you go back over it and have to strengthen plot lines, change character personalities if they aren’t behaving like they should and just tighten everything up with a nice twinkly bow.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

This is a difficult question.  I read an awful lot of YA PNR and to be honest I haven’t read anything like this.  I’ve read some truly fabulous novels and as mine is about angels, I suppose that is the only mutual element to link my book with others within the YA PNR genre.

However, I wouldn’t like to compare or equate my novel to any that are on the market right now, as I write in my own style and have my own ideas.  I think it’s very important to write your own story and not get caught up in all the hype and the ‘what’s hot and what’s not’ in the publishing world.
Write your own story and be as original as you can.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?

There was nothing in particular that inspired me. It was like I said earlier, a bolt from the blue while I was working on another totally unrelated novel. But it was one of those ideas that gets stuck in your head and it won’t let go until it’s on the paper and the story is finished.  This book practically wrote itself, I just happened to be sitting at the keyboard at the same time!

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

I don’t want to give too much away as Scarlett Phoenix will be out next month; this is a No Spoiler Zone or N.S.Z. So all I’m going to say is this:

‘Scarlett Paige is just an ordinary teenager until her parents move to America.  Thrown into a new school, a new town and a whole new way of life, things can't get any worse until her 18th birthday arrives with a whole new set of life threatening complications and everything she knows is transformed forever.’

My beta readers just couldn’t get enough and that in itself is 24ct gold to me.

So if you love paranormal romances then you are going to love this!
(Well I sincerely hope you do!)

Witchy Wednesday ~ The Wiccan Rede

Welcome to my new blog feature:

Witchy Wednesdays

'Bella's Book of Shadows'

Over the years I've researched a number of things whilst writing my novels and one of those things was Witch Craft or Wicca.  It's an immensely fascinating subject and I thought I'd share a few things I'd learnt and put them into an online book format called Bella's Book of Shadows.

Before we begin, this is most important.  If you don't want to abide by these simple rules, then my Book of Shadows is not for you.

If you want to live a magickal life, the Wiccan Rede is the first thing you want to read before you start dancing around your cauldron under the full moon naked, so here it is.

~ The Wiccan Rede ~

Bide the Wiccan Laws we must, in perfect love and perfect trust.
Live and let live, fairly take and fairly give.

Cast the Circle thrice about to keep the evil spirits out.
To bind the speel every time let spell be said in rhyme.

Soft of eye and light of touch, speak little, listen much.
Honour the Old Ones in deed and name, love and light shall be our guides again.

Deosil go by the Waxing Moon, chanting out the Witches’ Rune.
When the Maiden Moon is new, kiss the hand to Her, times two.

When the Mother Moon rides at Her peak then let your heart’s desire seek.
Heed the North Winds mighty gale, lock the door and drop the sail.

When the Wind comes from the South, love will kiss thee on the mouth.
When the Wind blows from the West, departed souls will have no rest.

When the Wind whispers from the East, expect the new and set the feast.
Nine woods in the cauldron go, burn then fast or burn them slow.

Birch into the fire goes represent what the Lady knows.
Oak in the forest towers with might, in the fire, it brings the Gods in sight.

Rowan is the tree of power, making life and magick flower.
Willows at the waters edge stand ready to help us in the Summerland.

Hawthorn is burned to purify, and to draw the Faerie to your eye.
Hazel, the tree of wisdom and learning, adds its strength to the fire burning.

White are the flowers of the Apple tree, that brings us fruits of fertility.
Grapes which grow upon the vine, give us both joy and wine.

Fir does mark the evergreen, to represent immortality seen.
Elder be the Goddess Tree, burn it not or cursed you’ll be.

Four times the Major Sabbats mark, in the light and in the dark.
Soon the new year will begin, say farewell to the old, it’s now Samhain.

When the time for Imbolc starts to show, watch for flowers through the snow.
When the wheel begins to turn, let the Beltane fire burn.

As the wheel turns to Lamas night, power is brought to magick rite.
As the wheel turns to Lughnasadh, watch for Harvest Moon among the stars.

Four times the Minor Sabbats fall, use the Sun to mark them all.
When the wheel has turned to Yule, light the log as the Horned One Rules.

In the Spring, night equals day, it’s time for Ostara to come our way.
When the Sun has reached His height, it’s time for the Oak and Holly Kings to fight.

Harvesting comes to one and all, when he Mabon Sabbat does fall.
Heed ye flower, bush and tree, by the Goddess, blessed be.

Where the rippling waters go, cast a stone and truth you’ll know.
When you have and hold a need, harken not to others greed.

With a fool no season spend, lest ye be counted as his friend.
Merry meet and merry part, bright the cheeks and warm the heart.

Mind the Threefold Law you should, three times bad or three time good.
When misfortune is enow, wear the blue star on thy brow.

True in love ever be, lest thy lovers false to thee.

Eight words the Wiccan Rede fufills:
‘And ye harm none, do what ye will’

There you have it, the Wiccan Rede and Threefold Law.  Keep in mind that anything you do magickally has consequences, so be careful and respectful of any action you carry out and if you are in any doubt at all, whether you should be doing a spell/ritual or not, listen to your instincts – they are telling you NOT to do it.

So until next week, where I have a luscious little love spell for you.

Merry part and Blessed be

Book Description ~ Amazon UK

Publication Date: 13 July 2012

The Collision is the worst disaster in human history. So far…

In the near future, an experiment at the Large Hadron Collider causes an enormous explosion, known as the Collision. The blast flattens a huge chunk of central Europe and punches a massive hole in the Earth’s surface. Over the next decade, unspeakable horrors pour from the rift: vicious creatures with a taste for human flesh, a terrible scream that drives all who hear it insane, a phantom entity that feeds on fear and paranoia, and a nightmare train from the pits of hell, to name but a few. This onslaught of terror causes the collapse of civilization and threatens to wipe humanity from the planet.

World’s Collider is a unique concept in short fiction, where all eighteen original stories are part of a common narrative, recounting the disaster and its aftermath. A true novel by many voices, including Steven Savile, James Moran, Aaron Rosenberg, Trent Zelazny, Jonathan Green, Simon Kurt Unsworth, Kelly Hale, Richard Wright and a host of new talent
